Joan M. Minton Sommers, 57, died September 6, 1998, at her residence.
A native of Chicago, she was born November 16, 1940, to Ralph L. and Joan M. Garrity Minton and had lived in Dayton for the past five years, coming from Burbank, California. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are husband, Lewis L. of Dayton; sons, Erik Bush of Chicago and Kevin Bush of Jacksonville, Illinois; daughter, Carolyn Bush Gaxiola of Belleville, Illinois; stepson, Herbert Sommers and stepdaughter, Loreen Prado, both of Ojai, California; brother, Ralph Minton (Location Unknown); and seven grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday at the church.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory, under the direction of Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society, both of Carson City. A memorial is being established with American CancerSociety, P.O. Box 21775, Carson City 89721.
