Bill Coryell passed away due to cancer early on Saturday morning, August 31, 2019 at Dell Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas, just one week before his 74th birthday. His younger sister, Barbara Coryell O'Malley, BHS '70, said, "Bill was welcomed into the arms of our Creator on Saturday morning at about 3:00 A.M."
William Harlan Coryell, III was born in Los Angeles on September 8, 1945. He grew up in Burbank, attending Thomas Jefferson Elementary, John Muir Junior High, and Burbank High, graduating in 1963. While Bill grew up the Coryell family lived on Victoria Place, just off of Eton Dr. in Burbank. He graduated from San Diego State University. He then married Janette Stansfield, and they settled in Granada Hills. Later they moved to Agoura Hills. After Bill retired he and Janette moved to Georgetown, Texas, north of Austin, where he lived until his death.
Bill Coryell is survived by his wife, Janette ("Jan"), of Georgetown, Texas; two sons, William Harlan Coryell, IV ("Bill"), of Omaha, Nebraska, and Chris Coryell of St. Cloud, Minnesota; sister, Barbara Coryell O'Malley, of La Quinta, California; and three grandchildren, Charlotte, Miles, and William Harlan Coryell, V, who are the children of Bill, IV, and his wife Wendy.
Private Services will be held in Texas.
